Japanese Iris Mix

Blooming in early to midsummer, about a month after the German and Siberian iris bloom, the Japanese Iris Mix is great for extending the iris season. Elegant and large, 5-in. flowers come in shades of blues, purples, whites and bi-colors. Because Japanese Iris grow well in moist soil and even shallow, standing water, they're a favorite for planting along the edge of water, such as near a pond or creek. They're especially impressive when planted in groups or en masse. Japanese iris prefer acidic soil. Grows 24-48 in. tall. Plant in full sun to partial shade. Deer tend to avoid. Zones 4-8.
