Sibley Winter Squash

A flavor favorite in our taste tests, Sibley Winter Squash produces teardrop-shaped fruit with attractive, slate-blue skin and sweet, orange flesh. The 5 to 15 lb. fruits are excellent when roasted, steamed and baked. They can also be pureed, sweetened and used in cakes, pies and breads just like you would pumpkin. Introduced commercially in 1887 in Rochester, New York, Sibley Winter Squash produces good yields, and the fruits store well. For best results, sow seeds directly into the ground when soil temperatures are above 60 degrees F. Seeds may also be started indoors three weeks before planting. Approx. 25 seeds per pkt. 100 DAYS.
